Even though I'm not from the States, and have never lived there, I regularly sign petitions and write to congressmen (and try to personalize things when I have the time). My German high school's postal code is the exact same one as that of Canton, GA. So for three years at LEAST I've been writing to Saxby Chambliss, Tom Price, and Johnny Isakson. I don't think I'm not entitled to do this, as I see myself as a potential future citizen, and thus have a vested interest in changing things. I also try not to refer to myself as a constituent (but when I can't formulate my own texts, sometimes I guess constituent might pop up in the formulated texts).Nesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13733951785229294471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8701093337018050508.post-28804741111546700292011-05-03T03:11:57.466-05:002011-05-03T03:11:57.466-05:00What a great post. I started this conversation with my middle child on a recent road trip because for me, the 70s funk music reminds me of a very young age where I still found the world fantastic and nothing ever went wrong. She was flipping through channels and found XM/Sirius's Lithium which is 90s rock and said "this is my music!" In realtion, she was roughly the same age during "her music" period as I had mine with my love affair with funk music (I am talking roughly the age of 5 through about 11). Don't get me wrong, there were still the kid show we both watched (Sesame Street comes to mind) but this seems to be the period when we both cultivated our music appreciation. Will look forward to reading your blog in a few years to find what yours was!Queen of the Universehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13930584527580733761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8701093337018050508.post-36207246409297832232011-04-05T08:40:03.278-05:002011-04-05T08:40:03.278-05:00One song is incredibly hard when sometimes I actua...One song is incredibly hard when sometimes I actually assign songs to specific DAYS.

I really would have to do it the section of my life way, like you did. If you cook at all, my way of experimenting was to just do a pot on the porch with rosemary and basil. Once that worked, I graduated to adding a tomato plant. It produced one great Roma before a voracious green caterpillar ate every single bloom and leaf because I didn’t have the heart to pick him off and kill him. I always go to the store and buy plants so this is my venture at sprouting seeds. I have tried before unsuccessfully but learned that this is one thing where quality matters. The first ones I bought were in the discount bin at the store for less than one dollar and they failed miserably. The Beekman seeds are much higher quality.Queen of the Universehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13930584527580733761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8701093337018050508.post-16254445055804268102011-03-21T08:10:40.028-05:002011-03-21T08:10:40.028-05:00Gardening is something I always was fascinated by....Gardening is something I always was fascinated by. I have been watching some young parents I know having freak outs because the kids are growing up and I say "uh, hello? that is what they are supposed to do?" People are miserable because they have no lives, not because their kids are getting older. Shame on them for not cultivating a strong since of self to model for their children.
