It's Awards Season

We are a family of nerds (I have covered this before) and one of our favorite times of year is Golden Globes-Tony's-Oscar nights. Last Oscar party, the kids dressed to illustrate nominated movies (no I am not kidding). Here is just a taste, can you figure out the movies?

So tonight we are cheering for Mickey Rourke and Heath Ledger. It would be nice to see real performances, however uncomfortable, win. The Foreign Press is usually pretty good about it and it's so much better a show since everyone parties at the Golden Globes. Ricky Gervais just went on stage with his drink still in his hand. Good stuff!

IMDb is posting results live if you are so lame you aren't watching the show tonight...

I must be even nerdier. I can't figure out any of those movies. I watched The Dark Knight the other weekend and Heath should win something, or everything.

i agree with the sentiment about heath ledger, however much his performance disturbed me, i don't think i've ever seen anyone else commit to anything so whole heartedly

PS. my fave pic is middle monkey doing Juno. She looks so much like ellen page in some of those pics, it's hysterical!

Juno, Sweeney Todd, No Country for Old Men and Ratatoullie are the movies from last year's Oscar's.

Heath did win the Golden Globe as did Mickey so I am hoping that repeats when Oscar rolls around. Mickey's speech was very touching considering he was almost dead really because of how he has effed up his life. His dogs are the only thing he had to live for and he mentioned them in his speech. I am hoping he uses this to create good things going forward instead of falling back to old, distructive habits.

I LOVE Mickey and am glad he's back... but when did he start looking like Peter Bogdanovich??
