Make a list

I have covered this before, here and here. It helps you process stuff and set goals. If you don't want to try it my way, 43 Things is a good way to do it with encouragement and support.

God Bless Australia

Christ, I wish there was more that I could do...I feel helpless. I haven't even gotten a chance to visit on my dream vacation and climb the bridge but it's hard to sit back and watch. I am lucky to know folks down under and my prayers go out to you all. I am reposting below an email with ways to help I got from one of my discussion groups. Please send it out to anyone you know that would like to help.

THIS IS A SPECIAL NOTICE FOR MEMBERS REGARDING THE RECENT AND ONGOING
FIRES AFFECTING THOSE IN VICTORIA ACROSS THE STATE AND AUSTRALIA WIDE

It has been bought to the attention of moderators by some members
that they would like to see an appeal for goods, donations etc for
the people that have directly been affected by these tragic fires, in
which hundreds of people have lost their homes, livelihoods, stock,
pets and sadly many have lost their lives, or are battling in
hospital with horrific burns.

So the question then becomes how can we as members help out in this
great time of need, with an aftermath never before seen, where
support will be needed for weeks and perhaps many months to come to
help people rebuild their lives.

The best way to donate is through the RedCross Bushfire Appeal. To
donate to the Red Cross State Government Victorian Bushfire Appeal
Fund:

I did hear that VIC is requesting urgent blood donors. They need
anyone who hasn't donated in the last 6 months. If any VIC people
are interested in doing this. http://www.redcross .org.au to find out
how

If not involved stay off the roads and out of the affected areas.
Also stay off the CFA and DSE website - an alternative is to check
out a twitter relay of the CFA updates -

The Salvation Army is accepted donations for fire victims

Toiletries - (soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shampoo,
deodorants, sanitary pads and tampons), underclothes, bedding are
urgently needed. Please do not donate perishables, they may not make
it to those in need fast enough. Nappies, formula, bottles etc for
babies, clean soft toys for toddlers, good wearable clothes. If you
wouldnt wear it because its too old, ripped or stained etc, please
do not donate it. You will only waste volunteers time in having to
get rid of them.

As people find homes, they will need good clean mattresses (if you
wouldnt sleep on it, don't donate it!), beds, chairs, tables, chests
of drawers, wardrobes will be needed. But please allow for the fact
that the Salvation Army may not be able to transport these larger
items to those in need if you are too far away, so check with your
local Salvation Army first)

Also - so kids can go back to school, generic school uniform items
(ie without your schools name on them), common items would include
tracksuit pants and tops (navy blue, green, maroon are common
colours), polo shirts ( eg navy and sky blue, green, yellow, white),
gray or navy shorts, school shoes in good condition, school dresses
(many primary schools have similar uniforms), even backpacks as some
of these kids will have lost everything.

BLECH

Gosh, today sucked.

Like, really bad crap happened but really great stuff happened so cosmically, I guess that should cancel things out and it would really then kinda been BLAH instead.

The love of my life will be here soon. Yeah me!

But I still don't like my boss. Boo him.

Putting out good juju for a most excellent job. I am already SO lucky on all other fronts, it's the last piece to fit in my great big life puzzle. I know it's just around the corner, I can feel it.

So, this was really funny to me and this is just awesome since it means the Princess has more subjects in her kingdom.

So life is short...enjoy yourself!

::cheers::

Here's to a better day tomorrow.

Peace and Chicken Grease.
