Oscar Roundup

So it is THAT TIME AGAIN! Woot!

What did you think of the list? What do you think of the adding more films? I will admit to being slightly stoked at the Baldwin/Martin combo...terribly funny together in It's Complicated.

Check the Best Picture category:

"Avatar" (20th Century Fox)
A Lightstorm Entertainment Production James Cameron and Jon Landau, Producers

"The Blind Side" (Warner Bros.)
An Alcon Entertainment Production Nominees to be determined

"District 9" (Sony Pictures Releasing)
A Block/Hanson Production Peter Jackson and Carolynne Cunningham, Producers

"An Education" (Sony Pictures Classics)
A Finola Dwyer/Wildgaze Films Production Finola Dwyer and Amanda Posey, Producers

"The Hurt Locker" (Summit Entertainment)
A Voltage Pictures Production Nominees to be determined

"Inglourious Basterds" (The Weinstein Company)
A Weinstein Company/Universal Pictures/A Band Apart/Zehnte Babelsberg Production Lawrence Bender, Producer

"Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire" (Lionsgate)
A Lee Daniels Entertainment/Smokewood Entertainment Production Lee Daniels, Sarah Siegel-Magness and Gary Magness, Producers

"A Serious Man" (Focus Features)
A Working Title Films Production Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, Producers

"Up" (Walt Disney)
A Pixar Production Jonas Rivera, Producer

"Up in the Air" (Paramount in association with Cold Spring Pictures and DW Studios)
A Montecito Picture Company Production Daniel Dubiecki, Ivan Reitman and Jason Reitman, Producers

Now while as usual, I have only seen about half of these so far (this is the part of living somewhere other than NY or LA sucks for movie fans, we often don't get these movies until post-Oscars or not at all--thank God for Netflix), I must say I am feeling really attached to The Hurt Locker. Aside from the fabulous director being able to effectively put her ex's ego in check, I thought Jeremy Renner was phenomenal. It was nice to see a war flick depict, realistically, both the horror and the kind of personality required to be successful at the jobs in which service members are required to do. If you haven't seen it, pick it up. Totally worth the ride.

SO? Are you planning a party? I wanna see pictures! Print your ballots here.

Yes. I am a nerd. Get over it.
